1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using PassVerity ("the app"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply to the free and paid versions alike.

2. Nature of the service

PassVerity is an independent, on-device tool that reads the machine-readable zone and NFC chip of an e-passport and performs liveness and face-matching checks locally. It is provided for personal, informational use only.

• PassVerity is not a government service and is not affiliated with any government or issuing authority.
• PassVerity is not certified for regulated KYC, immigration, border control, identity proofing or any other official or legal purpose.
• Results are informational and should never be used as proof of identity, travel eligibility or document authenticity.

3. Use of the app

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

• use the app to verify a passport or identity document without the lawful consent of the document holder;
• attempt to bypass, reverse engineer or tamper with the app's security measures, including screen-capture protection;
• use the app to defraud, deceive or misrepresent identity to any third party;
• copy, redistribute or resell the app or its components in violation of the license granted.

4. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose. Scans may fail or produce incomplete results depending on the document, lighting, device hardware and other factors. Always rely on the physical document and the issuing authority.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PassVerity and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including reliance on scan results.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. Payments are processed by Apple or Google through their stores and their terms apply. Refunds are handled by the store where the purchase was made. Nothing here obligates us to provide refunds directly.

7. Intellectual property

All rights in the app, including its design, code and branding, belong to PassVerity unless otherwise stated. Your purchase grants a license to use the app in accordance with the End User License Agreement.

8. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date and take effect on publication. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

To the extent not governed by mandatory local law, these terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there.
